Who I Am

I’m Maureen Peterson, Christian, wife, mother, grandma, sister, friend, athlete, and an experimental artist, living and working in Wichita, Kansas. I enjoy doing both commissioned and original art. My extensive artistic journey has allowed me to utilize various mediums including acrylics, soft, hard, and oil pastels, charcoal, and graphite. I’ve also ventured into the field of mixed media sculptures.

Whether you envision a vibrant acrylic painting, a soft and ethereal pastel creation, or dynamic portraits, my artistic arsenal is vast and versatile. I believe divinely inspired creativity knows no bounds.

Recently, I embarked upon the exciting exploration of Tataki Zome (hammered flowers). This approach to my craft has yielded captivating results, where the delicate beauty of flowers is captured in an exquisite amalgamation of vivid colors with poetic ink outlines. Every detail is infused with chaotic anticipation making each artwork a tiny masterpiece.

For me, beauty truly lies in the process. The journey from a blank canvas or piece of paper to a finished piece is a sacred one, where artistry and divine inspiration intertwine. I believe my dedication and meticulousness are reflected in the intricate details and captivating compositions of my art.

Collaborating with me for a commission guarantees not only an exceptional final product but also an immersive artistic experience. Whether you are in search of an animal or human portrait, an entrancing landscape, or a one-of-a-kind mixed media sculpture, I will bring your artistic vision to life.

I believe my diverse skillset, unwavering commitment to excellence, and the added touch of divine inspiration will grip your imagination a leave a lasting impression.
